The Mulberry Bramble Cocktail is full of amazing flavours and stunning colours. Made with mulberry gin, lemon juice, and blackberry liqueur, it’s really easy to mix, making it the perfect cocktail to serve at any occasion. It is fully of early autumn flavours, but can be enjoyed any time of year.
Mulberries are something that have always intrigued me. When we were little we would sing about dancing around a mulberry bush on a “cold and frosty morning”. In the myth of Pyramus and Thisbé, they meet (and later die) under a mulberry tree and that’s where the berries get their colour from (to memorialize their forbidden love or something vindictive and weird like that). So, do they grow on a bush that you dance around, or a tree that you have a violent death under? Who knows! (Probably botanists and people who can be bothered to use google). All I know is that I’d never actually tasted this sweet berry or seen them in real life. So my interest was piqued when I came across Mulberry Gin during a visit to Coughton Court (a National Trust site). I decided to snap up a small bottle, despite being on a self-imposed ban on buying any spirits or liqueurs for a month! Totally worth it, because this Mulberry Bramble Cocktail was born from it – and there ain’t nothing wrong with his baby!
The Bloody Bellini, delicious “blood” is combined with bubbly prosecco to make the perfect Halloween Cocktail for Vampires, and those suffering with anaemia. If you’re not a vampire, you can make this gruesome looking cocktail with Raspberry Puree and Raspberry Chocolate Syrup! Perfect to serve this halloween, and totally delicious too!

I think Halloween has got to be one of the most fun times of the year for us food bloggers! It’s a really great way for us to test our creativity and get a bit crazy in the kitchen , it’s the reason I love it! I welcome any opportunity to really get my creative juices flowing, and when else can I make a cocktail that looks like blood and it not just be totally weird and kind of gross?! Maybe Valentine’s day hahaha! This Bloody Bellini was so much fun to create though and for that I thank Halloween!
The Black Widow Cocktail is a dark, shimmery, and deceptively sweet cocktail. It is the perfect spooky sipper for Halloween and the next instalment of my Marvel Cocktail Series. It’s made with gin, crème de mûre, and black sesame syrup. It’s sweet, a little nutty, and visually awesome.
While I’m a firm believer that hard work pays off, and if you want good things you need to work for them, I’m also all about making life easy where you can! So when I was coming up with ideas for a fun and spooky Halloween cocktail and I had the idea to combine a Halloween cocktail with the next drink in my Marvel Cocktail Series, I was all over it! And thus, the Black Widow Cocktail was born! It’s suitably spooky and fun for Halloween, and works brilliantly for Natasha Romanoff’s Black Widow – winner!
A sweet and fruity homemade Blackberry Liqueur (also known as Crème de Mûre) that is so easy to make yourself with very little hands on time. The perfect way to use up all the blackberries the season has to offer! This easy homemade Blackberry Liqueur only gets better with time – so make up a big batch now to have the perfect homemade Christmas gifts on hand come December.
If you couldn’t tell from all the recipes on my blog by now, I absolutely love making cocktails and playing with different spirits and flavours. This means I need to keep my bar* as fully stocked as I can, so I don’t limit my creativity. At least that’s what I tell myself when I’m spending a fortune on spirits, bitters, and the like! So, if I can make some of the staples at home with minimal effort and cost, I am SO on it. This Crème de Mûre, or Blackberry Liqueur, is one of those!
*by bar, I mean a mess of many different bottles, poorly organised in a kitchen cupboard and a wine rack with bottles of gin instead of fine wines!
“When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt” – The Prince That Was Promised is a delicious Game of Thrones Cocktail inspired by the prophecy and those characters that may just be this promised saviour. This Game of Thrones Cocktail pairs Honey Bourbon with fiery Ginger Beer, topped with tart Red Currant Syrup and a smokey Mezcal Lime Garnish that you set alight to become Lightbringer and really complete this awesome cocktail. Whoever you think will end up being The Prince That Was Promised, this Game of Thrones inspired Cocktail is sure to impress!
WARNING! This post WILL contain Game of Thrones Spoilers all the way through season 7!
So, who’s having Game of Thrones withdrawals already?! I know I am! 7 episodes is just not enough, and now we have to wait until 2019 for the next and final season?! Not fair! But while we re-watch and re-read the series, I have made an amazing Game of Thrones Cocktail to tide us over, and help us along in theorising just who The Prince That Was Promised is! I have my ideas for sure, and they were who inspired the flavours and spirits of this Game of Thrones Cocktail!
