Hey there, welcome to my blog! I’m Michelle and I’m the baker behind the yummy things on this little blog. I live in Hertfordshire, UK and spend a fair bit of time in Atlanta, GA too. I treat my cats like their my children, I get way too invested in fictional characters and I have an addiction to cinnamon!
Here on Giraffes Can Bake you’ll find a wide range of delicious recipes, if it’s sweet you’re sure to find it on this blog. There are recipes for every occasion and any skill level – from easy, quick desserts the whole family will love, to more complex recipes to keep even the more experienced bakers on their toes (always with clear, easy to follow instructions so even beginners can impress their friends and family!). Check out the recipe index to find your next delicious bake!
I’ve been baking properly for about 5 years, it is definitely my biggest passion in life. But it’s only in the last two years that I discovered my passion for blogging about my baking. I don’t have any training in the culinary arts, I just teach myself in a trial-and-error kind of way – with a little help from the internet of course – and I’m here to share my successes with you! I’m always trying to branch out of my comfort zone, try out new things, so please do join me in this crazy baking journey – tips, comments and encouragement are always appreciated so don’t be shy!
The other thing I’m trying to teach myself is food photography – my photography knowledge is limited but with help from the internet and a few books I’m slowly learning. I currently use a Canon 350D, however any photos posted before January 2015 were taking using my iPhone (I’m slowly rephotographing as many of those as I can though). I always appreciate feedback and tips!
Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to seeing you around here on Giraffes Can Bake!
